Language - Reading and Writing

""The only way of progress and increasing perfection is by repeating reading with interest"
- Dr Maria Montessor

We realise that whatever language development the child has to conquer at any given point can only be done on the basis of past conquests. In other words, when we want to know what the child is able to achieve at any given point, we have to know what he has already achieved up to that moment.

We need to give him a sense of freedom to enjoy the language We also help the child in self-expression by enriching his experiences.

When the Child is 3.5 years of age he will need more challenging and more direct assistance to develop his spoken language on various planes. We need to consider what form of help he would need, and how best we can help him.

In order to become conscious of the complete spoken language, we have to apply the method of analysis
1. Phonics
- One form of help we can offer the child is helping him analyze sentences into different components.
- To help the child become conscious of the sounds of his spoken language, on a phonetic level.

To help the child prepare himself for reading by developing the capacity to recognise sounds for which the letter symbolises. Visual memory for shape of letters is developed.

Writing comes as an outer manifestation, a consequence of inner development having been achieved; a vital development conquest that comes spontaneously, that appears explosively as a result of the fusion of several long hidden multi-motivated but convergent indirect preparations.
